It’s Postdoc Appreciation Week 2023!

In case you missed it the PAW just started today. Check out over 100 events on paw-germany.de.

We want to especially draw your attention to the two events with contributions from the Leibniz PostDoc Network:

The first event: A Panel discussion entitled Postdoc Surveys – Benefits, Considerations and Opportunities for Improving the Postdoc Experience – Thursday, September 21st, 15:00 – 16:30

On this event the most important findings of the Leibniz PostDoc Network and Max Planck PostdocNet Surveys will be highlighted and the similarities and differences in findings discussed. The idea is also to debate how to move forward when thinking of structural changes needed for Postdocs in and outside Germany. This event counts also with the participation of David Payne, Managing Editor at Nature – Careers and Supplements. The Leibniz PostDoc Network will be represented by Harry Williams (BNITM).

This event will join “at the same table” representatives of different German postdoc networks (Dr. Christian Nehls representing the Leibniz PostDoc Netwok) and the parliamentary state secretary to the Federal Minister of Education and Research (BMBF) Dr. Jens Brandenburg to discuss several pressing topics such as defining the roles of postdocs in the current academic system, the issues that international postdocs face, the career and life aspirations of postdocs, and the construction of effective solutions to improve the situation of all postdocs in Germany.
